WVOdesigns.com My new project! I am documenting the designs that I have done; both the Ford Conversion and the Centrifuge and posted them to a new site so that they may be shared with the community. I believe that there is a lot of good knowledge out there and I think that people trying to sell it gets in the way of the community development. It is an open forum dedicated to sharing designs. I hope that it can help, it is the resource that I was looking for when I started.

April 2008

FASS PUMP DIED After a 7 hour drive to Atlanta, the veggie pump was blowing the 40 amp breaker. 40 amps was way too much for the 12GA ground wire that I had and it melted. I replaced the wire with a 10GA but the pump is almost a dead short and blows the breaker! I believe that pump should only draw 25A so it is in the mail for warranty. I had the big one that came with a 5 year and I only had it for 6 months. I can't even think of anything that I did stupid with it.

A problem! The FASS pump developed some polymerization on the pressure relief valve causing it to leak and hence not develop pressure. I changed the controller to turn of the diesel pump when the veggie pump was running to ensure full veggie operation. There is a fail safe mode that turns the diesel pump back on if the fuel pressure drops below 65psi. I disassembled the FASS and cleaned up the relief valve with a polishing bit on my dremel tool. System works again as intended though I am suspicious that the seal ball may have been deformed due to heat as it was fused to the spring. Since I have not had one of these units apart new I don't know if the ball was free originally. Never the less we are back burning veggie with visual indicators of what is happening

I have the centrifuge! All the custom parts are now in and it is down to assembling the beast. I am planning on using a 1500W submersible heater in line with a thermal switch set to 190F to get the oil hot and ready for separation. I am planning on running at about 5gph with a shutdown/purge once per hour to reduce build up. With a little luck I should have the thing running by the end of the month.

10000 Miles of the F350 and no problems. Have started to deliver WVO to a local manufacturer of Bio Wood Treatment and other interesting products that I am offering on this site. Centrifuge is being manufactured. I will have an offsite location for it once I have it running as my fiance is less than pleased about having 500G of WVO in the back yard.

January 2008

Have been driving 60 miles/day on veggie at temps down to 20F! - 5000miles and no problems.

November 2007

The beginning. We established a source of WVO of 300G/week and have to figure how to deal with it. Designed and completed the first installation of our "RAW POWER" conversion on a 2001 F350.
